Project for The Collectors Cut Blog

This week is a friends birthday and I decided to do a project for her. Danette picked this saying for this vinyl project. It was so much fun to make. I had my blade set at 6 and other settings at 3. I used Wall Decor for the crown and the font is from Nursery Rhymes. I put rhinestone crystals on the crown to bling it up a bit.

Gibbs Happy Mail

I am in a craft swap called Gibbs Happy Mail. My partner Tammy made me the most beautiful stick pins and cards. The pictures don't do justice to her work. Can't wait for another round of Happy Mail.

Button Bracelet

My mom's birthday is today and I decided to make her a button bracelet. I used oval jump rings so the buttons would lay correctly.

New project for The Collectors Cut Blog

My random cartridge this week was Nursery Rhymes. My friend Tonya had a baby a few months ago and I wanted to make something for her. I decided on making a nursery mobile. I hope she likes it. I cut 1 mat size and a front and a back, then used pop dots to give them a 3 dimensional look. I hung everything from a wreath covered in organza fabric I picked up at Joann's.

You can go to http://thecollectorscut.blogspot.com to check out what everyone else did this week. The other projects are fabulous.

Update on Emma

I am so sorry to say Emma had to be put down last week. She was truly a special dog. I adopted Emma from Airedale Terrier Rescue and Adoption (ATRA) over 3 years ago when she was 10 years old. Her first family had a son with medical issues. They decided to adopt her out so she could get the attention she deserved. Otto, my airedale I've had since he was 10 weeks old immediately got along with Emma. They were fast friends.

After Emma blew out her knee the Vet said she wasn't able to have surgery. Emma had other medical issues plus her age was against her. It got to the point she couldn't put any weight on her back leg and couldn't get up on her own. Last Tuesday was one of the hardest days I've had. She is in puppy heaven now playing with all her friends.

Thanks to everyone for you prayers and thoughts. I can't tell you how much they are appreciated.

Project #3 for the Collectors Cut blog

I randomly selected Songbird for this weeks challenge. I used Songbird and Forever Young for the layout.

The layout is for a Cricut Swarm I went to in May 2010 with the Gibbs Girls. The picture is Gayle scrapbooking while the rest of us are busy watching a movie on the big screen and scrapbooking too. The swarm was in Branson Missouri.

Come over to TheCollectorsCut.blogspot.com to check out the other projects.

This is a birthday album for a friend's daughter. Her birthday was December 23rd, so I used a lot of red and green in the album. Here are a few pictures of it. Taylor loves owls and mushrooms so I included them in her book. I used Forever Young, Celebrate and Cindy Loo on this book.

My next cartridge for The Collector's Cut cricut cartridge challenge is Songbird. We post new projects every week to the blog. http://thecollectorscut.blogspot.com Come check it out.

Vintage Spoon

Danette from the Barnes and Noble Craft Group came over to my house this afternoon to craft. She brought pretzels from Gus's, a St. Louis favorite. We had a lot of fun and she shared embellishing a spoon with me. I love how it turned out. Danette made the Valentine tray I made a few days ago. I loved her version so much I changed mine. LOL I love the scalloped edge and stickles.

Valentine Project for Barnes & Noble Craft Group

It took me a long time to come up with the project. I first started out with a Christmas theme then changed over to Valentines. Must say I really like the final version. I picked up the mini vintage serving trays at Goodwill for 50 cents.

This is going to be my shoebox project for the Barnes and Noble Craft Group on Saturday. I'm really excited to share it with everyone.

Scottty Dog

I made this Scotty Dog to put on a card. It was inspired by a gift that was given to my from Kimi in a craft swap.

Love Banner

This is my first project for The Collector's Cut blog. I used K & Co paper, Bazzill cardstock, Stickles and a heart shape album from Michael's $1 bin, Tim Holtz Rosette Die and I sewed crepe paper Rosettes. The Cricut cartridge I randomly selected was Storybook. I covered the chipboard with the paper and took a craft knife and cut around to get a close around the shape. You can click the image to enlarge the picture.

Please check out The Collector's Cut.blogspot.com for more projects from Kimi, Paula, Tracy and me. We started the blog to challenge ourselves to use our Provo Craft Cricut cartridges more.

Happy New Year

Doing this blog has been such a positive experience for me and I'm looking forward to 2011. I have enjoyed sharing my projects with you.

It has been a year of medical issues and surgeries. Hoping for no more surgeries and good health in 2011.

I don't have a positive report for Emma, one of my Airedales. She has an autoimmune disease and is not doing well.

Happy New Year,

Laurie

On the mend...

Hi everyone,

Well I have had way too much excitement this week. First on Dec 20th I have neck surgery to remove half a rod implant more hardware and fuse C2&C3 together. Now I will be completely fused from C2 to T3. I spent Christmas in the ER. Today my health seems to be looking up.

This afternoon I get home from the doctors appt and one of my Airedales couldn't walk. Emma has an auto immune disease and these are the symptoms of that disease. I gave her a large dose of Prednisone and a pain pill. I am really hoping she will be showing improvement by morning. Emma was getting bad prior to my surgery but after the pred and pain medicine she was back to normal. I am not in a position to walk her in the snow with my neck. I would appreciate any prayers out in blogland.

I've been working on some ideas and getting supplies together to start working on an altered item. If it works out it will be my shoebox swap with my Barnes & Noble craft group. I'll post a picture when I get it finished.
